Sculptors Studio
An artist studio and residence within a public walled garden
The artist worked primarily in large sculptural pieces using heavier materials, often exhibited externally, as such a larger studio space with direct access to the outdoors was required. The artist also stipulated that she preferred to keep practice and personal separate, as such a scheme of two structures separated by a single over thick wall providing a border between the two. The studio faces into the garden allowing for shelter whilst the residence projects over the wall of the garden allowing for unobscured views across the park, this form further separates the spaces.
